Website Migration

WEBSITE MIGRATION

Move with a plan—not a guess

A successful migration accounts for the website, database, DNS, SSL, email, forms, redirects, and customer access. Niiji Hosting evaluates those dependencies before changing live traffic.

Pre-Migration Review

We identify the current platform, account access, website size, database requirements, mailboxes, DNS records, and special applications.

Protected Copy

A migration copy and available backup are prepared before the final cutover. Existing hosting should remain active until validation is complete.

Functional Checks

Key pages, forms, login areas, media, HTTPS, and database-driven functions are reviewed on the destination environment.

DNS Coordination

DNS changes are scheduled only after the destination is ready. Propagation timing depends on external networks and prior DNS settings.

Email Planning

Mailbox migration is treated separately from website files so messages, routing, authentication, and device settings are not overlooked.

Post-Launch Review

After cutover, Niiji Hosting checks the agreed website functions and documents issues requiring customer or third-party action.

Our migration sequence

  1. Inventory: Document the source account and every service attached to the domain.
  2. Copy: Transfer the approved website and database to the new environment.
  3. Validate: Test the destination before directing public traffic.
  4. Cut over: Update DNS and monitor the agreed functions.
  5. Close: Retire the old service only after confirmation and an appropriate safety period.

Exact timing and included work depend on the source host, website technology, account access, data size, and third-party systems.

Plan the migration before changing DNS

Send the current host, website platform, approximate site size, and whether email must also move. Never place passwords in an ordinary email message.
